How Coaching Works

What is life coaching?

Life Coaching is a practical, forward-looking, way to gain clarity and perspective, aims and desires in your life and what you can do about it.  It is also a powerful support system to keep you, the client moving in the right direction and providing an external perspective.

What happens during a coaching session?

By observing, listening and questioning, together, we will explore your situation and beliefs and goals. We will find ways in which you might achieve your dreams and I will help you to set appropriate targets.  Remaining supportive and non -judgmental, I will assist you to maintain motivation and commitment, and to find ways of overcoming challenges and setbacks.

Is it a form of Counselling?

It must absolutely be understood that Coaching is not Counselling.  Coaching is primarily working in the present and from this point on from a reasonably stable base.  Largely we draw a line under what has been and look to what will be, letting the past serve you and moving towards your new future and all the wonderful things you are going to make it.

Are there any situations that coaching is not appropriate for?

Life coaching is not appropriate for people with serious medical conditions, drug addiction or mental illness.

If at any point I feel that I am not able to offer you the most appropriate, sincere and professional coaching, I will, with respect, terminate our session and return any remaining funds where relevant.
